The Scots' Society of St. Andrew
In our society we do Scottish Country Dancing 3 weeks out of 4 and hold a social on the other week.
About The Scots' Society of St. Andrew
The Scots' Society of St. Andrew was formed when many Scottish people came to Slough to work and was founded in 1933. In its heyday it was a thriving society, performing dance demonstrations locally, in house pantomimes, outings for families and large well attended balls. Nowadays our membership is below 100, but we still have much enthusiasm for our dancing, thoroughly enjoying our 3 weeks of dancing alongside interesting talks and socials to accommodate the full membership of the society. We are coming up to the 90th anniversary of the society and intend to hold some very memorable events during this our special year. We are always very welcoming to new members and the first session anyone attends is free! To say that dancing is very good for you is an understatement, it is wonderful: for your health, mood, brain and all of you!
