Start your swing dancing journey!
We do a variety of dance styles from the 1920s, 30s and 40s with a focus on the Lindy Hop & Charleston. They’re fun, playful and energetic, allowing you to express your individuality and improvise to the music! Our first class of the evening is suitable for complete beginners and there's no need to come with a partner. Our evening includes practice/social time – this is a chance for you to practice what you’ve done in the class, ask teachers for feedback or just dance socially.
19:30 - 1st Class - Learn it! - Fundamentals class suitable for all levels including complete beginners.
20:10 - Social dancing - Dance it! - Practice, dance or chat!
20:30 - 2nd Class - Know it! - Suitable for those who are comfortable with the basics from the first class.
Southernhay Church Hall venue
Car parking: There is limited on-street parking on Southernhay East & West and Dix’s Field road which is free after 6pm. There are plenty of nearby car parks including Princesshay and Dix’s Field. Further afield you can park in Triangle or Parr Street car parks. You may also find free parking in residential streets in Newtown and St Leonards.
Public transport: Our venue is approximately a 2 minute walk from the High Street and city bus routes, and about 10 minutes walk from Exeter Central railway station. There is a cycle rack directly opposite the venue above the car park ramp to Princesshay 3.
The hall is accessed from the entrance on Southernhay East.
