Every Thursday afternoon a group of friendly dancers from the Bury St. Edmunds and Newmarket areas meet up at Stanton Village Hall for a Tea Dance with a break for tea & biscuit and most importantly for a social get together and a chat. As well as couples there are single dancers who pair up for a dance, their long time dance partners having past away. To help maintain numbers they are looking for couples or individuals, who are interested in social dancing or learning to dance. The group do mainly social sequence and ballroom, with some Latin and line dancing. Dancing is normally done to pre-recorded music, chosen from Mick’s library of over 10,000 ballroom and Latin dance tracks. Professional keyboard players are invited to play live dance music at the six extra special party dances held each year.

Dancing to music really is a good way of maintaining everyone’s physical, mental and social wellbeing.

Stanton Tea Dance meet weekly at Stanton Community Village Hall, Old Bury Road, Stanton IP31 2BX on Thursday afternoons 2pm till 4pm and charge £3.00 per person.
